Standard eye exam services:
A standard ophthalmic exam is a series of tests done to check your vision and the health of your eyes.

Are you having any eye or vision problems?

Review your history of glasses or contact lenses.

Review your overall health, family medical history and medications.

Checking your vision using a Snellen eye chart.

Optional tests include:

Check three-dimensional (3D) vision.

Check your side (peripheral) vision.

Check your eye muscles by looking different directions.

Examine your pupils.

Check your eyelids for lesions or structural problems.

A slit light will be used to:

See the clear surface of the eye.

Check for glaucoma using a method called tonometry.

Examine the lens of the eye for cataracts.

You'll be given eye drops to open up (dilate) your pupils so that we can view the inside of the eye. This includes all of the structures inside the eye.

After your exam, you may be given a prescription for glasses. The doctor and technicians will discuss the findings of the exam and answer any questions you might have.

Contact Lens fitting / Exam:

Dr. Westrick is our contact lens specialist. If you desire contacts, you will be given a special appointment to measure your eyes for contacts, to examine your eyes in relation to possible contact lens wear, and to fit your eyes with contacts. Dr. Westrick and his technicians will discuss contact lens options with you and instruct you on proper use and care of your contacts.

Glaucoma Services

Glaucoma Screening and monitoring:

The most common services for glaucoma that we offer at NEO include screening for glaucoma in all patients and watching for glaucoma as time goes by in individuals with special risk factors for glaucoma.

Glaucoma Risk Factors:

Family History
Elevated Intraocular pressure
Optic nerve appearance suspicious for glaucoma
History of eye trauma

Cataract Surgery Services:
Consultation to decide when cataract surgery should be performed.
Our technicians and doctors will explain the surgery which involves removing the crystalline lens which has become cloudy (the cataract) and replace it with an artificial lens implant.

Cornea Services:

Our doctors at NEO diagnose and treat a wide spectrum of corneal diseases from Dry Eye Syndrome to penetrating corneal lacerations. We do not offer refractive corneal surgery such as LASIK or PRK, but we are happy to discuss these procedures with you and make a referral if indicated.

Retinal Services:

The retina is the special irreplaceable layer lining the inside of the back of the eye. It is analogous to the film of a camera. It is made up of rods and cones and their support cells. Our doctors at NEO examine the retina as a part of your eye exam.

Your NEO doctor can diagnose diabetic retinopathy, macular diseases such as macular degeneration, retinal tears and holes, retinal vascular disorders, and various other retinal pathology.

Our doctors perform some retinal lasers, and often refer to local retinal specialists for retinal diseases requiring surgical care.

The staff was rude and snarky, It is really frustrating and really unprofessional in my opinion. The doctor was absolutely ridiculous. They didn't do anything for me that I already didn't know. They just want your MONEY!!!!!! I was never able to relax during my appointment. I was on edge the whole time. Never going back! I wouldn't recommend them to anyone, find a different ophthalmologist!!
