Rude, rushed and no help. There are other endocrinologists in the DC metro area who are more compassionate and patient orientated. Find them. Do not waste your time or insurance on this practice.

I went to see Dr. Verma after I was hospitalized for experiencing a thyroid storm due to hyperthyroidism (that was when I was diagnosed). When she was my endocrinologist, I had little knowledge about hyperthyroidism and Graves' disease. After ordering blood work and an ultrasound, she immediately recommended radioactive iodine treatment (RAI) without discussing my feelings about the issue or the risks of a new disease, hypothyroidism. She never discussed medications or alternative options. She didn't order a nuclear iodine uptake test that would determine if my hyperthyroidism is from Graves', nodules, or thyroiditis. She has poor bedside manners. She doesn't answer questions thoroughly. She never asked about my symptoms. She didn't explain my blood work. The average appointment with her lasted 10-15 minutes. Waiting was, on average, 30 minutes. Her staff is ridiculously rude. I have never met a more unqualified doctor than Dr. Verma. I now go to George Washington University Hospital.

I believe she specializes in diabetes treatment but not thyroid disease. DO NOT go to her for thyroid problems.
