If you are in an abusive relation, avoid this therapist. We were on a phone consultation and my husband got angry and pushed my. I told Dr. Rutherford that my husband just shoved me. My husband said "no, he pushed me." So instead of saying that physical violence is wrong, he took my husband's side with the abuse and gave me a 15 minute lecture about the difference between "shove" and "push." Does it really matter??? Isn't any physical violence wrong? Not to Dr. Rutherford.
