This hospital is a must for our community. I have had times when I have had to visit the emergency hospital very late at night. The staff and the doctors have been wonderful. My cat, Kevin, was a visitor there and they kept him going until the next morning and I took him to his regular vet. He pulled through famously at the time.
I have also had two cats euthanized there due to very serious circumstances. The vets were professional and compassionate. It is a valuable asset to our community.

I have been to Berks Animal Emergency Center on several plus different occasions. I have found them to be thoroughly professional and caring. On two occasions there was nothing they could do and both animals were euthanized with my support in those cases. On other occasions, however, the outcomes were positive for the animals. For example on Thanksgiving day my elderly cat, Kevin Ryan, who has a very thick medical folder was taken here and I thought he had a broken leg. He could put no weight down. Dr. Lee examined him and right away said he had an ingrown toenail. What a relief. I keenly understand why he has the vet degree and I do not. They treated Kevin Ryan like the little prince he is. Kevin is good to go for another round. Thanks, Berks Animal Emergency.

Took my puppy there and they diagnosed her as having the parvo virus. They said they wanted $3,500.00 up front to treat her but couldn't guarantee that she would survive. I paid them the $50.00 dollars for the diagnosis and left with my pup. The next morning I contacted the Humane society of Berks and they seen her right away and sold me the meds to treat her at home. It cost me $250.00 dollars. 3 days later my pup was up and about and back to normal. When I told the Berks animal emergency shelter in Shillington that I didn't have the $3,500.00 they said did I think about putting my pup to sleep, I think they wanted about $250.00 for that. The Berks animal emergency shelter didn't even offer to sell me the meds to treat my pup. This place is all about money and care nothing about the oath they took when they became vets. The only thing they are concerned with is money. I would not recommend anyone take their pets to this place.
