My father was there due yo suffering dementia and early stages of Alzheimers. At the age of 94 yrs, a male CNA went in his room and took his money from dad. Dad tried to stop him, he fault the man and he broke both of dad's jaw bones. Dad called him nephew and because dad wasn't able to ID him when the detectives interviewed him, he got away with it. What made it bad, his mother was a nurse, who covered and lied for her son. We moved him from there because as a result, Dad's mouth was wired as a result and he could only eat pureed food. Dad had 2 surgeries and never recovered. While he was there I had a female patient tell me they weren't nice, she didn't want to be there because she fell off the bed because when she called they didn't come help her, she said they would be sitting any would ignore them. She said some was nice but they were mean to the ones who couldn't help themselves. We went they day, afternoon and evenings. Maybe it's changed. Management was good, but some of the staff that worked did for a check and because that was one of the jobs they could get. Beware and be careful. Hopefully they've changed.

My aunt just passed away from this horrible place. They steal, have a terrible hairdresser who over charges the seniors. They wait to late to call you with progress of patient till the patient gets worse then they send the patient all the way to Truman hosp instead of st. lukes. They don't keep good records. Too many people in patients room who don't belong there. They eat your families food and steal their personal belongings. They move them around to where they lose a lot of personal belongings. They broke my aunts tv set the day we went to get her belongings. Some of the young nurses are loud, rude, ghetto acting. They change staff every year and the new person is worse than the last. The good employees which there are few usually end up leaving and I don't blame them. The Corporate office only cares about the money they can make and not with the quality of care or concern with the seniors they are taking advantage of. They lose important paperwork. The last staff that I worked with was disgusting and did not know and made up crap to cover their asses. My grandmother was there and my mother took her out, This was in the 90's and do you think that they care about your family member. No it's bring them in and make what you can from them. The first day I saw a lady in the first bed fall out and no one came to help until I went and got somebody. That same week my aunt was sleeping at night and some one tried to take her pajama top off. She woke up. there are many other things I can say but if you put your family member in this place you need to check on them everyday. The patient's clothes are on other people even if the name is on. I had to start taking my aunts clothes home on three busses so they wouldn't get lost.

I agree with the person who said it isn't fit for animals. My grandmother spent about 2 weeks there for rehabilitation after a minor fall. She needed strength training to walk to and from the bathroom, she left worse then she was when she arrived. They felt she was unable to stand up doing nothing to solve the issue she spent the entire time in a wheelchair, and was sent home unable to stand or walk.. I visited at various times found her sleeping at 3:00 pm, once in "therapy" stacking cones, the remaining time she was in the wheelchair in the hall. I arrived one evening she was in the wheelchair in the hall with a blanket over her lap SHE HAD NO PANTS ON, I took 7 outfits they couldn't find her clothes, it took 2 1/2 days to find them. One outfit and one pajama set and her shoes were never found. She had someone else's socks on, the next day she had shoes on but not hers which they sent home with her they don't know who they belonged to but since they fit she could have them and while changing her for bed when she got home she had on a t-shirt also not hers. The memory unit was severely understaffed, had 1 pleasant nurse, and one who offered an honest opinionthe aids were pleasant, the others were borderline rude at best. In addition it's run down and dumpy.

I have a relative that is/was at this facility, the day time staff seems to show a little more care then the night shift staff. My relative was continously left for long periods of time (after help was requested) when they needed the assistance due to them being disable to do most things for themself. The cordination with outside assistance is terrible, my relitive was left outside in the heat for over an hour waiting to be transported back to this facility. Everything that is requested seems to be a burden/problem for the staff to accommendate which should be a prioritypleasure to the people that have paved the way for the next generation. This facility should be investigated for poor service and rejected for any goverment/etc assistance that they receive.

NOTE: remember these patients are some bodies relatives and are very important and loved by them. No one wants there love ones mistreated even the staff at this facility.

Where do I begin? Plaza Manor is not fit for animals! Until a recent call to the state to report their unsanitary conditions, I was always met with the smell of urine and human decay. My mother and grandmother have been residents at this facility recently due to a lack of space at other more desirable facilities. Staff is incompetent, unprofessional and rude. The few good nurses I have met there don't last long. Even the administrator is defensive. Patient records are inadequate as well as patient care. Please do not leave your loved one at this facility if it's at all possible to place them elsewhere! I can't even rate this facilty "Poor-Fair". My family rates it overall "Demeaning - Condemnable".
