They always dress so professionally here, the entire staff obviously makes an effort to look their best and maintain a very professional appearance. I didn't have to wait at all after I arrived for my appointment. They were running right on time, which is a really big deal for me. I really appreciated that they didn't schedule my procedures all on the same day, and spread them out over the course of a few weeks. That way, my surgeries didn't take as long, and my risk for complications was reduced. I felt like they really cared about my safety and well-being. They are an absolute expert in the field. I would never feel unsafe or apprehensive in their care.

I just had a breast reduction done by Dr. Serafin at an Army Medical Center. Maybe because I was active duty my experience was quite different. I am absolutely with out a doubt satisfied with the quality of care, the results and the professionalism. Before my surgery, I heard nothing but good things about Dr. Serafin. He is a man of short conversation; however I never left without a question answered. He explained everything very thoroughly during all of my visits and the day of surgery. So like I said my care might have been different because of my active duty status and because I was not dealing with his private practice. I am sorry for the other women that had any issues because clearly he was capable of doing a great job; like he did for me.

I was refered to him From fort bragg because I had a diastasis with my abdomin and an umbilical hernia from having my son. when i went to see him as i would ask questions he wouldn't really answer my questions as if they weren't important when they were to me who was nervous about the surgery. I would have gone to a different doctor in the first place but hes the only one the army will provide at ft bragg. On my surgery date i was still confused if he was going to use mesh to fix the split in my ab muscles. He wouldn't give me a strait answer he said he would have to decide that when i was in surgery. that was ok. But when i asked after the surgery he couldn't even tell me either he forgot cause he's in his 70s or he just didn't care enough to pick up my file that was sitting on the desk next to him and tell me. When i was recovering i would go in to get checked up and he still couldn't answer that questions and would mostly have the nurse see me. She was terribly rude also. Once i healed all the way and could see how it was without the swelling, it looks horrible in my opinion. The scar is very ridged like he was shaking and there is still quite a bit of skin. He could have taken more time and did a better job. the surgery was supposed to last 4 hours is how much time he had to do it and I was out in an hour and a half. if that says anything, to me he seemed rushed like he didn't even want to do it. I'm so dissatisfied that i've been searching for someone who can fix this mess.

I had recently had a breast reduction through Dr. Serafin. I researched reviews high and low and only came across two. I wish I had had more information regarding his practice and had more reviews to read prior to my experience. I live 75 miles away from this provider. 1st issue was distance. I was referred by my PCM and had no other choice but to have him as a doc. He seemed to be credible based on my research so I felt okay with having the procedure done. The only negative review I had read was one that said his office staff was difficult to deal with. Well, I could get past that, so I thought. On the day of my procedure and the day after, the doctor did not come to see me. I was waited on by nursing staff. Upon my arrival home, I had to wear a brace for 7 days. I returned to his office in Durham to have the brace and stitches removed, a one and a half hour drive keep in mind-in pain, and was immediately taken to the back by a nurse, who didn’t even work for Dr. Serafin ( he rents out space in another doctors office) and she cut off my brace. About 1 minute later, she said, okay, you can go home and come back next week to have 1/2 of the stitches taken out. I was caught off guard a little bit as I had not seen my doctor since before going into surgery, and no stitches were being removed and my overall condition was not being evaluated. I could have cut the brace off myself and saved a 3 hour drive if that was the case. So I left and drove home. Upon returning home, I received a call from Pat, (his only employee) stating that an error was made and that I should have been seen by Dr Serafin and stitches should have been taken out. This was very upsetting as I felt I was being placed on the backburner. If my health and welfare was a condition of him getting paid, he would not have been paid. I bet he would have made time for me. It seems to me like all he was concerned about was the money. For the cost of this procedure, I expected alot better follow-up care and overall treatment. I then had my stitches taken out a few days later as he drove to my town (as to not inconvenience me a second time around). I at that time, asked how the procedure went and wanted to know more info about procedure (like how much tissue was taken out, etc..) and he told me that he couldn't tell me because he left my file in Durham and could not remember. Okay-once again, I was insulted that he couldn’t even bring my medical records with him. I had my husband, who is a nurse, take the rest of the stitches out I was so disappointed. I am now 1 month post-op and have not had a single call from Dr.. Serafin to check on me or to schedule a follow-up appointment. I will say this, my results were okay-nothing special. I would not recommend him to anyone as this kind of procedure requires follow-up and he does not provide that. He needs to expand his office staff as I never got anyone on the phone, I always got voicemail as he only has one employee.

Sincerely,
Very Disappointed in Fayetteville NC.

Dr. Serafin did a good job on my breast reduction but his office staff was near impossible to work with.
