Dr Sweeney chose his specialty, urology, because he enjoys the variety of cases and patients that he is able to see on a daily basis. Additionally, being a urologist allows him the opportunity to treat individuals of all ages – from children to senior citizens. He also feels fortunate to be practicing in a surgical subspecialty that continues to offer ever-changing technological advances. Dr Sweeney completed his fellowship in urology at the University of California Los Angeles and residency at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. Dr Sweeney credits his parents for helping to mold his sense of responsibility, morality and caring and his wife for continuing to keep him centered. He and his wife have four children.
