Why I chose to pursue a career in healthcare: Passion was for art, music, and design. I was plunged into the field of medicine at 15 years of age without much choice, scared not knowing what to expect, yet did not want to disappoint my dad. He wanted me to do something substantial in life and reserve my passion for a hobby. My carrier in medicine started at a charitable hospital in India, moved on to serve and care for people of Sultanate of Oman Bedouins close to the Yemen border, then to the United States to care for the community of Gettysburg as well as the Veterans and the Lebanon VA Medical Center where I work in the ER.
