Mary Lowen

Growing up in central Kansas, Mary Lowen was inspired by the primary care physicians in her small town. She decided to follow in their footsteps and she’s loved the unique challenges of family medicine. Mary believes One Medical is reinventing medicine by blending modern technology with old-fashioned values. In her practice, Mary partners with patients to develops workable solutions to their problems, and she listens attentively to each person’s individual concerns. She enjoys working with patients who are committed to being active participants in their own health, and she enjoys helping them manage stress, weight issues, and other lifestyle concerns. She also particularly enjoys the fields of women’s health, adolescent medicine, chronic illnesses, preventative medicine, and psychological illnesses including eating disorders. To stay healthy, Mary loves hiking, biking, yoga, and training at the gym. In her spare time, she knits, makes jewelry, reads mystery novels, and works out with her family. She volunteers with Temple Isaiah in Lafayette, and also sings in the choir. Mary earned her bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of Kansas, and her MD from the University of Kansas Medical School. She became chief resident during her three-year residency in family medicine at the University of California, Irvine. Mary is certified through the American Board of Family Medicine.
