The owner of our company, Shirley McGee, worked in an Assisted Living/Nursing Home for 11 years. In October 1999 her own mother moved into an Assisted Living facility and by May 2000 she was gone. Shirley realized her mother was just unable to make the adjustment. She had seen this before, but it had never hit so close to home. It spurred her to look for other options for the elderly and she discovered in-home companion care, so she changed careers. After running an in-home companion care company in Newport News for 4 years she decided to found her own company, and opened Home Sweet Home Care Inc for business in 2004. Home Sweet Home Care Inc. provides non-medical home health care to assist the elderly and respite care for family caregivers. Often the elderly don’t require the services of a nurse even though some form of elder care is needed. That is when Home Sweet Home Care Inc. elder care is the perfect senior care solution. Our caregivers provide home health care to the elderly who aren't ready to leave their home for an institutional setting or live with relatives, but because of illness or chronic conditions need caregiver support to remain at home. Each of our caregivers is ready to help you and your loved ones with a variety of daily activities such as: • Caring companionship • Meal planning and preparation • Incidental transportation • Running errands • Light housekeeping • Medication reminders • Monitoring of bathing and grooming • Assistance with bill paying • Information and referral services
