Dr. David Newman has extensive background in alternative and progressive medicine that includes: completion of the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine certification program, and the AFMCP Program from the Institute for Functional Medicine. He is a licensed chiropractic physician, certified as a naturopathic physician, licensed in acupuncture and is an adjunct professor for Miami Dade College Department of Health and Related Sciences.
Dr. Newman is an individual and corporate consultant, an educator, and patient advocate. He practices Functional Medicine with a clinical nutrition approach to chronic disease and is one of the first wave of physicians to complete the Masters level curriculum for Functional Medicine. Dr. Newman is past president and advisory board member for Positive Alternative Therapies in Healthcare (PATH), educating the community in progressive, integrative approaches to health and wellness. His private practice in Coconut Grove, Functional Medicine Miami, also serves as a community health education site for lectures on relevant and timely health topics that affect us all.

The focal service of the practice is functional medicine individual counseling. This is the centerpiece of care in this practice. Any chronic condition or disease, diagnosed or undiagnosed, may benefit from a counseling session. The initial visit can range from 1-2 hours, covering an in depth look into one's health history. Lab tests are chosen based on an individual's specific health story and needs. A program tailored according to your specific findings will usually include dietary recommendations, and targeted nutritional or herbal formulas.
