He grew up in south Florida, but after he and his family (wife and four children) came to Nashville, they loved it and have made Nashville, Tennessee their new home. While his practice covers the spectrum of Rheumatologic disease, Dr. Rhea has a particular interest in treating patients with Rheumatoid Arthritis, Gout and Degenerative Arthritis of the extremities. He is one of the only Rheumatologists in the area trained in Musculoskeletal Ultrasound; and he uses this in daily practice to improve diagnostic accuracy and the precision of joint aspirations and injections.
He is involved in teaching residents at the University of Tennessee Internal Medicine Residency Program at Baptist Hospital. He volunteers regularly at the Siloam Clinic for the uninsured in Nashville. During his time away from work he enjoys coaching his sons in baseball and soccer, Crossfit training and spending time with his wife and kids.

Dr. Christian Rhea practices in Heritage Medical Associates Division of Rheumatology. He has been with Heritage as a Rheumatologist since 2006. He graduated as valedictorian of his medical school in 2000. He completed his training in internal medicine and an additional year as Chief Resident at the University of South Carolina. Heritage Medical Associates was founded in 1991, when three independent groups of internists came together to form an organization that would be ideally suited to continue to offer quality patient care in the ever-changing health care setting.
