About

Allison Brunner, Psychotherapist

If you're struggling with ongoing emotional pain, feel frustrated or stuck or have tried and found minimal success with more traditional talk therapies and solution-focused therapies, I believe I can help. We can work more deeply to access and heal the root of your pain so your mood and behaviors change organically. I offer holistic, mindfulness-based, depth- and insight-oriented therapies to people struggling with anxiety and mood disorders (including depression, bipolar disorder, developmental trauma, and post-traumatic stress disorder), grief or loss, and problems with attention or concentration, and self-esteem.

When we try unsuccessfully to change our behaviors with willpower, we often experience frustration, shame, and guilt. However, depth work can, with much less effort, free us from patterned behaviors, limiting beliefs, and chronic emotional pain and ultimately change our lives.

I completed a two-year training in 2007 in The Hakomi Method of Experiential Psychotherapy, which utilizes mindfulness to access what may be stuck in your unconscious mind. In addition, I encourage clients to discover and trust your innate wisdom and facilitate a deeper connection to your higher, authentic Self.
