About
My name is Travis Jones and I am a Professional Counselor licensed by the Texas State Board of Examiners of Professional Counselor.
I graduated from Dallas Baptist University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Sociology and then completed a Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Counseling Degree at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. I have also completed training in Trust-Based Relational Intervention at the Texas Christian University Institute of Child Development.
Professionally, I have worked in human services for more than 10 years, first with adults with chronic mental health issues, and now with families pursuing foster care and adoptive placement of children in the child welfare system.
Personally, I have been called to the field of counseling from a young age. My passion is for building strong families, and I seek to accomplish this mission by helping others grow personally and in their relationships with others. As a husband and father, I recognize the challenges that we all face and I hope to be a resource to help you in whatever ways that you are seeking to grow.
I have experience in counseling married couples, as well as individuals. I have provided pre-marital counseling, as well as therapy for couples considering reconciliation of a broken relationship. In individual therapy, I have worked with clients on issues of grief, childhood abuse, strained family relationships, depression, motivation, and many other topics. I work with foster and adoptive families, professionally, and find a special joy in helping families that are providing a forever family for children who are in need. And, I believe that I have particular insights that are well-suited for families struggling with infertility and/or infant loss. I truly consider it an honor to be able to help you work toward your personal goals.
