About

Tracie Strucker, PhD LCMFT

I work primarily with women who want to create a healthy relationship with food. This includes women who struggle with eating disorders including bulimia, anorexia and binge eating. I also work with women who emotionally eat and want to break free from this cycle.

Another facet of my practice is the inclusion of other mind-body issues, such as cancer, lupus, diabetes, heart disease, etc. Often, the struggle with these issues is stressful and leads to feelings of sadness, helplessness, and overwhelm. Often these issues are present with the eating problems too.

In therapy we will look at the big picture and answer important questions such as, "what do you want more/less of in your life? or what is my purpose?" But, we also will address the practical side of things too, such as, "how do I get through the night without eating until I feel sick? or how do I convince myself to add (fill in the blank) to my daily meal plan?" and not feel out of control. The process of awareness and increasing consciousness of both the psychological and the physical body are both an important part of treatment.
