Elizabeth is one of the most unprofessional therapists I've been to in my life. She didn't shake my hand or introduce myself, and he phone rang in the first two minutes.

She is out of step with addiction and recovery. She is extremely judgmental and doesn't listen at all. I was there less than 10 minutes, she told me I was still using (which I'm not) she said I was doing nothing for myself in my recovery, when she never even asked what I was doing - which is NOT true. I see one other counselor, go to group sessions, see an addiction dr from CATS, and lots more. When I mentioned my marriage issues, she suggested I take my kids and leave the state..umm..you have a social worker background and you're telling me to leave the state
with my kids? Hello kidnapping charge!

She mocked me also. When she judged me more, I said she couldn't say that because she didn't know me, and she said, "Ohh, I forgot..YOU'RE special." I was shocked. She is the type that just is on 'recovery' autopilot, handing out recovery platitudes and not really looking at you like and individual. She paints all addicts with a broad brush. All addicts are liars, and in denial, no matter what. How can someone judge someone so harshly in less than 10 minutes? She is really behind the times in her thinking and not up to date on any current addiction research or school of thought.

She managed to humiliate, insult, offend, and down right piss me off in the very short time I saw her. She is also very condescending. It was one of those situations where if you try to say anything back to her, well, you're just in denial. She is not qualified to treat any addict, and needs to take a long hard look at whether it's time to retire. At one point, when I asked a question, she had me sit in her chair to get her perspective. Come on. I wonder how many times she pulled that therapy gem on the people who see her?

Trust me, DO NOT GO TO HER! Plenty other therapists to choose from.

None of my questions were answered, nothing was accomplished, and I felt worse when I left.
