About

Elkwood Arts

Elkwood Arts is a licensed vocational facility, providing sheltered employment and training to disabled adults, which produces quality handcrafted products made almost entirely from certified Pennsylvania hardwoods. Wood has been donated by local businesses in the Pennsylvania Wilds.

Elkwood Arts is a program of Dickinson Center, Inc. and was started in 1994 when searching for a way to meet the needs of disabled adults interested in wood working. We are dedicated to teaching the skills needed to create, market and sell the products generated.

Elkwood Arts has purchased a laser engraver which has enabled us to expand and enhance our product line. For those outdoor enthusiasts, we can engrave wildlife images, nature scenes or one of your personal photos. Custom images are available upon request.

Elkwood Arts, a woodworking cottage industry, is dedicated to teaching the skills needed to create, market, and sell the products generated. It is also a teaching ground in which more generalized work skills can be taught allowing those interested and capable to move into competitive employment.
