After having a terrible experience at another optometrist in Santa Fe, I was relieved to find Stephen Walker. My eyes are very difficult to fit contact lenses and he did an excellent job each time I have come. He has been my eye doctor for 5 years. You can imagine my disappointment when I learned last week that he has left his practice next to Acoma Optical and a new doctor has replaced him.

Dr. Walker appears to be qualified to do the work he does. However, he is like a M.D. without a bit of bedside manner. He was frustrated by the patient's need to ask questions and understand her own health needs. He was angry when he had to explain contact lenses and rude when multiple fittings were required. While he may be less expensive than some other O.D.'s in Santa Fe, I would pay the extra to go elsewhere—if you value being treated with respect.
