BEWARE of Debbie Peterson.
I attended one (1) session with my estranged husband to see IF we could get over hurt feelings & decide if we both needed to continue seeing seperate counselors or if we should attend marriage counseling together.
I thought she was very liberal. She did not steer the convo in anyway. At the end she suggested, when we were ready to forgive eachother for the hurt, we would be ok, just do a weekend marriage retreat.
AND THEN........
At my husband's following appointment, she "beat" (his word) her presumptions that I was "manipulative and every man should run away" that I "had plotted and schemed throughout our appointment together". This is the furthest from the truth! However, I have been seeing my own counselor & took her suggestion to how I should handle my thoughts & emotions.....Just wish I had taken my counselor's advice to see someone else who had NO preconcieved ideas of either party!
I DO NOT appreciate ANYONE, especially someone who acts in a proffestional role, to make presumptions of my character & negate the actions of her patients.
