I'm a chaplain, and live my life for the Lord, so it is very hard for me to write this, but I feel it is my duty to warn you about this man. This is humbling indeed for me to do this, as I feel like we should forgive one another, but just the same, I should give others fair warning so they do not waste their time and incur heartache dealing with Mr. Hicks.
I feel like my appointment was pointless. Mr. Hicks leads on that he is a Christian therapist, when in fact he lacks much spiritual fruit and his actions leave me to question his love for Christ and love for others. He was very rude. He lied to me about price. He was elusive as to what he discussed with my son and told me nothing after the appointment was over. It was a total waste of time.
I went there seeking help with my son. Although I'm a chaplain, I wanted help with my son who was having major depression, and I wanted it from someone with a Christian world view. I left the office paying more than he told me I would pay. He said at first that he would allow me to pay what I would have paid if I went to a therapist under my insurance plan, but when we were through, he added another 50% upcharge with no explaining. He gives a "good ol boy" charm, but he is certainly not the man he leads on to be. I would never visit him again. I emailed him that I was still having trouble with my son being despondent and withdrawn, and my concern. He told me to cone in the next week, but I couldn't make it. I had promised a family that id visit their son in prison. When I told Mr Hicks this, he accused ne of loving whatvhe called a "prisoner" more than my son. Luke 9:23 tells us to deny self and take il our cross daily. I have faith that the Lord would put a hedge around Ny son and allow ne to minister to the inmate at prison. Mr. Hicks laid into me via email and dismissed ne by telling ne to go to two other therapists. Again, no explanation or anything. He is very rude and out of touch. Please reconsider before going to him.
