This is my opinion and my opinion only. My son went on an adult dating site, met with an 18 year old, to find out she was 14. My son went to Henger for a sex offender evaluation. In his evaluation, he wrote:"AS the interview turned to focusing on why he was talking sexually online to a an individual portraying herself as an 18 year old girl, his overall demeanor became increasingly guarded. Mr...struggled to answer questions that dealt specifically with his attraction and arousal to the girl whom he was chatting with sexually online...Well guess what Henger...This kid was brought up with some morals, and at the time he was talking to this girl she was 18...in your office he knew she was 14...what man would morally confess their attraction to a 14 year old? He also used some ridiculous method to see if he was someone who would repeat this crime. Static-99R He scored a three based on age, lack of a two year live-in relationship, and an unrelated victim. This score placed him in the moderate to low risk. My son had just graduated from college, when was he supposed to have had a two year live in relationship!!, and if this test is for real then how many other men would be considered at risk of committing a sexual
assault? millions!!! Then henger went on to recommend all sorts of programs that he teaches, and he said this: Mr. ..can identify and understand the dynamics of his offending behavior. He will have the opportunity to confront and challenge his distorted schemas regarding himself and others. Henger also wanted to do a sex history polygraph!!
This was a young man who for the first time went on an online dating site for adults only, and had very little online contact with this girl.This girl lies about her age and is luring a stranger to her home to have sex at 14, but it is my son who is distorted!! This letter was very damaging to my son in court..1 year jail no time off for good behavior, two years probation, and 15 years on the sex offender list. This is all for a misdemeanor charge!! We later begged Mr. Henger to write the court and let them know that our son was not a threat to society. Mr. Henger threaten me and told me that he was going to the DA to talk about me threatening a courts witness. You may want to think twice about Mr.Henger.
