My basic orientation is INTERPERSONAL. Most of our emotionally trying situations involve ourselves and at least one other person. This fact holds true even for those special problems which might SEEM to be purely personal in origin -- such as depression, anxiety, or even panic attacks: In fact, those problems, too, usually mask an underlying RELATIONAL problem.
I am unaffiliated with any insurance plans, so you can rest assured that what takes place in my office stays in my office. I work by appointment only -- although I can often accommodate an emergency reported to me by phone.

In reality, a first appointment with a psychotherapist is essentially the chance for all parties -- the therapist as well as the other person or persons -- to see if they can work together.For that reason I don't charge for the first visit.
