Hi my name is Linda I have been visiting a friend in this nursing home facility for almost 10 years I must tell you the first 9 years were my best memories. the resident is 87 years old he does not like the food in this facility his son either cooks or buys food daily three meals a day for almost 10 years now. At one time there were plenty of nurses and aids not now a new owner has bought the facility and its gone down hill fast. That statement came from henry drexler he is in charge of office of the aging, I left this area last summer I came to visit my friend last summer 2009 I noticed my friend who is the resident was wet all the time his blue top cover blanket was stained of urine and smelt, the resident was always wet. I left in oct 09 and returned in may 2010 I realised nothing had changed. It was my goal to try and get the aids to try and toilet him more and change him, that was a lost battle it was like fighting city hall. My first attempt I showed up at 12 noon brought in lunch asked a aid to get him up and toilet him she replied that the son does that.......Lets think about that the resident pays $90 thousand dollars a year and the son toilets his father.....I know the son is not employed at valley view manor, the more I asked the aids to toilet him the more hostile they got with me.....some of them really hate there job and you can tell they do not want to be there which only reflects on the residents. A aid did tell me she did not think they were changing him in the night she said my friend was soaking wet every morning and all the bottom bedding was wet with urine. He had ants in his room I took charge and the staff did try to get rid of them but I had to stay on top of it. I wouls spend countless hours in this facility that is when all my troubles started you see I saw and heard too much. I came in at 4am in the morning saw a resident shut out of her unit, I saw a lady crying all by her self alerted a aid that the resident was crying she just looked at me and looked at the resident and walked away......that is what I call compassionate care at valley view manor. I saw a man bolt out of the facility he beat the security system I saw a man in a wheel chair just leave OH HE DID TELL ALL THE STAFF HE WAS LEAVING TO GO HOME FOR MONTHS to afton he got out nobody saw him. I also find out two nurses and two aids taking care of 82 residents, you figure it out what kind of quality care can they provide. A family member told me that her father in law claimed a resident urinated on him in the evening time while he was in bed I heard the man SCREAMING FOR A NURSE.....the facility said it was not true but yet this man did have a history of urinating where ever he was in the facility. To make a long story short I had called the state FIRST TIME EVER....that was a joke I find out the INVESTIGATOR told me she really liked the administrator JUDD and had a good relationship with ALL THE STAFF AT THE OTHER NURSING HOME IN ROME NY. I wrote to the state telling them next time they need to send somebody else to both nursing home facilitys. Apparantly she told all the staff they were doing a great job.......YOU FIGURE IT OUT!! I was not the only one that had complaints apparantly there were two other complaints filed against this facility. I ENDED UP BEING RESTRICTED THEN BANNED FROM THIS NURSING HOME FACILITY.......THE NURSING HOME ADMINISTRATOR CLAIM THERE WERE NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS AGAINST ME!!!.....These administrators are SLICK they are very good at lying two aids also SMEARED ICE CREAM AND PEANUT BUTTER ON MY BRAND NEW CAR. The resident has expressed his feeling to chris henry he told her he wants me back in they are now abusing his rights...........do your self a favor look for another nursing home facility if you must put your loved one in here then plan on having family members and friends check on them over 24 hours. Go in at 3am in the morning just check on them. MORE AND MORE PEOPLE ARE BEING BANNED FROM NURSING HOME FACILTYS WHY BECAUSE THEY SEE THE ISOLATION AND NEGLECT OR ABUSE IN THES NURSING HOME FACILITYS. WAKE UP AMERICA THERE IS A CRISIS in these nursing homes all over america.....THEY DO NOT CARE......it all boils down to paying out big money to share holders another statement from office of the aging.
