This place killed my cat, Pansy. She was 14 years old and perfectly healthy. I had just moved to the area with her and wanted to find a new vet. Pansy needed to have her teeth cleaned a couple of times a year, so I brought her in for that simple procedure -- something I'd been doing in Bethesda MD all Pansy's life. There has never been a reason to sedate her for this procedure, so I didn't ask about it. When I came to pick Pansy up after the procedure, I learned (long story short) that she had been given general anesthesia and they hadn't even done a blood test on her first to determine the proper dose. She was horribly brain damaged. She could barely get on her feet. I had to give her sub-cutaneous water because she was too spastic to drink for herself. Eventually, to end her suffering, she had to be put down. I never got so much as an apology from this horrible place, although they did give provide me with a ready supply of the sub-Q supplies I needed. Real nice of them. The veterinarian who actually took treated Pansy was new in practice, and was under the supervision of Dr. Elaine Lutz, now practicing at Piedmont Pets Veterinary Care in Warrenton. Keep my experience in mind when deciding whether or not you want to go there. I note that Foxchase is out of business now. Thank God.
