Vet-a-Pet aka Beauvue Animal Hospital... I'm surprised this place is still in business. My experience with them was back in 2009, and I was greeted on a Sunday by a woman who looked like she was straight out of the Dharma initiative, jumper and all (LOST fans will know what I mean). Completely unsanitary conditions in the unairconditioned barn which was also supposed to pass for an examining room – dead flies, cobwebs, and dirty horses surrounded the filthy examining table and room. Thought about leaving several times while "veterinarian" was in the back looking for stuff, but there were no other veterinary clinics open on Sundays and my cat needed medical attention. He was drooling and obviously had an issue with one of his teeth.
Although very gentle and obviously well intentioned, the vet did not exude competency; seemed as though she hadn’t seen a patient in 20 years and I wondered if she was even licensed (since I didn't see one prominently displayed). She had ME hold my cat's mouth open for her to take a look at his teeth, and she had ME take his temperature while SHE held his tail.
I refused an injection for my cat due to the unsanitary surroundings, and her inability to provide any form of diagnosis besides halitosis.
The vet could not recall weighing him 5 minutes after and had to weigh him again. She also could not determine an appropriate dosage for an animal of his weight, even with a calculator, several times trying. Once she was certain she had the appropriate dosage, she dispensed an insufficient amount of pills for the prescribed treatment. I took my cat to the Pet ER in Waldorf IMMEDIATELY after leaving this place where they took x-rays and told me he'd have to have one of his teeth extracted.
