Zero stars if I could. Our 6-year old King Charles spaniel lost her vision due to the careless inaction of Carkeek Park Vet Hosp. Having been clients for years, the service has become very inconsistent with lack of compassion and obvious lack of internal communication. On Wed, brought our dog to Carkeek Park Vet Hospital. We weren't able to speak directly to the vet to confirm she understood that our dog had a puncture wound to her eye. Vet wasn't able to detect wound so prescribed steroid drops. Friday, the eye looked cloudier, we returned to Carkeek but were told a vet couldn't see her. The manager did take her to the back and returned saying the eye looked better (1st vet was out of town). I don't even know if a vet looked at her. Monday, eye was very irritated and looking ulcerated. Returned to Carkeek, they said they couldn't see her until Wednesday. I took her to Emergency vet in Lynwood where she was prescribed antibiotic drops and I was told that the steroids were counterproductive with a puncture wound to the eye. Tuesday made an appointment with an Opthalmologist. Tuesday night got a call from Carkeek stating that that Dr Jolivet knew we wanted antibiotics for Lily but wasn't willing to prescribe antibiotics because he didn't want to counter the 1st doctors prescribed treatment for some unmentioned reason (despite the fact that our dog's eye was obviously becoming seriously ulcerated and infected). Thursday, corneal graft surgery at the Opthalmologist. I wrote to Dr. Nancy Bauer, the owner, complaining that we had been clients for years but communication in the office is poor and the service we've received has been inconsistent. Dr. Bauer apparently did receive my letter but two weeks later, I haven't heard one word. Disappointing. There a lot of other great vet clinics in the area.
