My practice is based on assumption that our mind has capacity to create disruptive, maladaptive and destructive internal and interpersonal patterns of existence, but that it also has enormous potential for self-healing from those patterns.Toward that end, I use integrative therapeutic approach consisting of conventional Cognitive Behavioral Therapies, Insight Oriented Therapy, Clinical Hypnosis (in tradition of Milton H. Erickson), Family System Approaches, elements of EMDR, elements of "tapping therapies" such as Emotional Release Therapy and Thought Field Therapy and therapeutic use of dreams. Mindful of uniqueness and complexity of each human being, the therapeutic techniques used in the course of the treatment are "chosen" as therapeutic process unfolds, in both individual and couples counseling.

I was dealing with some difficult personal and family issues. From the very first session it was clear I was meeting with someone who treated me as an intelligent person capable of understanding the way the mind works and how I had made the decisions I had made along the way. He gave me the tools to confront the thinking and behavioral issues I had used for coping and find alternative strategies. Mirko is very practical and NOT full of psycho babble and "How does that make you feel" statements. Mirko never let me off the hook (like changing the topic), always used humor to ease my tension and keep me focused though the 10 months we worked together. He helped me develop plans and held me accountable for following through. I always left with tangle ideas to reflect upon. Mirko is one in a million and I will always be grateful for his help. I highly recommend him to anyone to really wants to get to the root of an issue, deal with it and move forward with their life.
