About

Josh Rubin, Owner

Josh and Jeanne of EastWest Healing and Performance have dedicated their practice to helping people to help themselves. Our goal and dedication is in educating, guiding and supporting each and every client through the physical and nutritional changes necessary in obtaining optimal wellness!

In our experience it has become very clear how influential each one of our personal environments can be on our current state of health. Learning how to identify these offenders along with restoring the damaging effects of these stressors provides the optimal environment for healing!

There is so much confusion with the advent of “Google University,” in addition to the dismembering of our foods and the human body that have contributed to the practice of “this can work for that…and that can work for this” mentality.

You are an individual and how your body function’s is dependent upon its ability to do so. We are here to offer you back ownership of your health and to provide you the information you need to make more informed choices around your health!

At East West Healing & Performance, our philosophy on nutrition is simple; it takes life to give life. However, in today’s environment, we must recognize the influence of our environment and its demands on the metabolism. It is understanding our ability OR inability to assimilate this information that is key in defining our current state of health. Some of the common symptoms influenced by metabolic distress include: GI dysfunction (Crohn’s Disease, Ulcerative Colitis, Diverticulitis, food intolerances), Hormone Issues (PCOS, hypothyroidism, PMS), Cancer, Diabetes, Heart Disease, Auto Immune Diseases and more!

Manual Therapy

The human body is always trying to maintain a state of function. We recognize the body’s ability to heal and seek its clearest and most dynamic expression. The body is a system of systems, a functional unit and a system of auto-regulation. When the body is balanced there is no excessive stress anywhere in the body, but when the body becomes out of balance this can be amplified to other areas.

Manual therapists regard the whole of the body as greater than a collection of all its parts. They acknowledge the body’s inherent ability to heal itself and seek to support that process by removing any obstacles that impede it. In order for this to happen manual therapists specialize in individualized patients management, which includes educating the patient about their particular condition and how they can adjust their lifestyle to allow themselves the best possible chance at recovery or optimal management.

At EastWest Healing and Performance we pride ourselves on many things. One of the most common themes is teaching people how to help themselves, but also listening to our clients on all levels. This allows us to take a more individualized approach when working with our clients.

We offer many various types of therapy from Cranio-sacral Therapy, Neuromuscular Therapy to Osteopathic Manual Therapy. We don’t use all our tools with everyone. Using our comprehensive totem pole assessment allows us to listen to the body, thus telling us what to use, where to go on the body and what to do. Our goal is not to be a technician by dictating what the body needs. Our goal is to treat the person by listening to the body itself.

Personal Training & Rehabilitation

Exercise is a prescription
Most people blame their aches and pains on aging. While the natural progression of aging does have its effects, understanding how the body works is the true key in restoring optimal movement and eliminating pain.

“You are only as strong as your weakest link.” The body is a system of systems and anytime one part is out of balance, whether due to acute or cumulative processes, the body will learn to protect itself from injury through developing compensatory patterns. These compensatory patterns lead to muscular imbalances, weakening our foundation and over time lead to further injury.

As skilled corrective exercise and rehabilitation specialists, we have dedicated our practice to doing EXACTLY that! Through comprehensive assessment we are equipped to better define the source of dysfunction providing us the necessary tools to design the appropriate program for you!Although physical pain may often present itself in any one of the joints (including the spine) more often then not the area of pain is not the area of dysfunction. We are made up of muscles, ligaments, tendons, organs, bones, etc so it is imperative, when working to eliminate pain, to acknowledge the relationships between these things so that we can better define the root cause or driving force of dysfunction.
