In 1977 I moved from Newport Beach, California to beautiful Portland, Oregon and upon arrival, I was immediately hired by an upscale salon. In the beginning of my career I extensively trained for 3 committed years in the hair-cutting technique of Vidal Sassoon. I excelled and became the artistic director for the salon, which included photo shoots, hair shows, creating new fashion forward hair and color trends, and most importantly training new apprentices. One of my most memorable occasions was working on live TV,( KATU), designing makeovers for the studio audience.

Owning my own Salon has always been a vision of mine, and in 1981 Designers for Hair became a reality. You may think 38 years has been a long time, but as an artist and perfectionist, I can't wait to get to work!
My clients are amazing and through the years we have formed sincere friendships.

The salon's architectural style has a modern twist of Art Deco and the decor captures the ambiance of downtown in a quiet Beaverton neighborhood. We are centrally located between Beaverton and
S.W. Portland (Raleigh Hills) for an easy access from any direction.

Tristine is awesome. I have been going to her for almost 30 years. I would not trust my hair to anyone else. My hair has been long and short and everything in between and she has managed to make it look good no matter what. I always get complements on the cut and the color. She is amazing! I live in Sisters now and still come back to Portland to get my cut and color from Tristine!

Tristeen is awesome! They made the extra effort to make sure every question and concern I had was addressed. she really listened to me and asked great questions. I will absolutely return. I had an amazing experience, and they were by far the best I've ever seen. Their prices were very fair. The level of care you get for the price is outstanding. I got an appointment quickly. Great haircut - even liked it as it grew out! I've already told my friends and family about the fantastic experience I had there.
