I was confused when things started going wrong, and they behaved as if they did not understand what was happening when what i described is called "subluxation." (a partial hip dislocation). Their staff was friendly enough, but they did not prioritize my medical needs when it was clear i had developed a pseudo lesion as a result of metal splayed through out my joint. I had to have a hip revision on one side...and I believe it was because of the placement of the implant. No one verified the fact when it is clear on the x-rays that it was not placed the same as the prior implant. I was told by administration that there is a lot of sensationalizing around the metal on metal issues being reported. (this was after high levels of cobalt, severe and often subuxations, pain, swelling, rashes and possible kidney problems resulting in surgery...all caused me to undergo an involved hip revision. Dr. Boyd came to see me the morning after surgery...told me everything went well, and he was going out of town, and a PA would be seeing me while in the hospital. I was not visited by a PA until my last morning. He knew nothing about orthopedics and was there simply to discharge me. Unfortunately, I knew something was wrong the day after surgery when i was assisted in getting out of bed. It hurt way more than the first hip...and pain medication offered little relief. I was not believed by the nursing staff at the hospital. Please do not risk metal on metal implants with Dr. Boyd.

They are reliable. They don't dismiss concerns as unimportant, they take them seriously. They didn't pressure patients to buy anything that isn't needed. Experienced, professional.
