My review is based mainly on the fact that Dr. Beal's office seems to focus on how they can make the maximum amount of money rather than how they should treat patients. I went in for a birth control consultation. New patient consultations are around $240, of which I paid a significant amount due to my insurance deductible (no, my insurance deductible is absolutely not Dr. Beal's fault). During the consultation she gave me a guilt trip about not getting a pap. I know paps are needed, but not every single year. However, she made it seem like she would be doing me a huge favor providing me with a birth control prescription. I agreed to do the pap, and made an appointment for the next week. After the pap appointment she told me I would have to make another appointment in order to go over the results and to receive my birth control prescription. The pap only cost around $150 (this went fine -- she is personable and quick). I made my follow up appointment for two weeks later. After a week, however, I received the results of the pap in the mail. I still needed my prescription, so I still had to go to the follow up appointment, which was another $240 dollar charge (I find it disturbing that consultations cost more than actual procedures). I am not sure how a $240 dollar charge is justified just so she can hand me a piece of paper with her signature -- that is almost all she did. The other thing she did while I was in the office was give me a sample of my birth control, which does not make up for that obscene charge in any way -- especially when she took the amount of samples off of my one year prescription. I think the moral of my story is this -- if you want to require a pap before you will give birth control prescriptions, then say that over the phone so that I, and future customers, can just make that appointment to begin with. Also, it would be nice if she would give the birth control prescription during the pap appointment rather than holding my reproductive future hostage just so that I can pay another consultation fee and huge deductible. I knew after my first office visit that I had made a mistake not just sticking with my original plan of just getting a birth control consultation/prescription.

They put in the extra effort to make me feel valued and important. They always dress so professionally here, the entire staff obviously makes an effort to look their best and maintain a very professional appearance. Just as a side note, this business is really conveniently located and is close to everything. It is right off and freeway and close to all kinds of shops. I was able to do my shopping for the week right after my appointment. When comparing them to others I have visited for the same condition, they are among the best I have seen. They paid close attention to me and all of my questions were answered.
