I went in for a routine cleaning and they refused to do anything but charged my insurance. They advised me that I needed a high priced cleaning and that there was nothing they could do until I had this cleaning, $ 2600 worth of a cleaning. I know for a fact I don't need anything like that. Plus, why would I give them $2600 when they wouldn't even do a basic cleaning. I don't know there bedside manner and how they treat people who don't do well at the dentist, so why am I going to pay for service when they may not even treat me right?! Then they handed me a financing application to tell me I can finance the procedure, really? Um, No! This provider has no helpful information available online, apart from their address and phone number. They just have a basic listings page. I was given a polite greeting when I walked in. It was nice to be acknowledged. I would never visit them again. I was very disappointed. They don't have that great of a professional reputation in my community. They definitely aren't known for being experts. Every time Id ask a question, it seemed like they were annoyed and didn't want to give me an answer. I understand they're busy, but they should really treat their clients better.

At first I thought I liked them. I really did. Friendly, thorough, professional...

And then I started adding things up talking to friends about their dental care. I soon realized that I was being raked over the coals. Here are a few bullet points:

-My insurance covers one fluoride treatment per year. I received 2 treatments in a year and was charged for the second one out of pocket (didn't realize I was only covered for one until I got the bill, I just trusted that my dentist knew best). You assume this because they have everything right up there on the computer in front of them.

-On my 3rd or 4th visit, I asked about a little gum recession that I had noticed. This was AFTER my cleaning. My hygienist hadn't noticed it and didn't bring anything out of the ordinary up. She jumped right on that. "Do you grind? I notice grind spots. I will get the lady up front to get you some materials about a night guard. I have one and it has helped a lot"....OK, I think, why not. So I go talk to this lady and she gives me a quote for this thing....$500!! None covered by insurance. I actually broke out in tears because here I am thinking I had to have this thing or my teeth would fall out. She gives me her look (other people know who I am talking about and her "look"), and then hands me a credit application to FINANCE this thing. I ask about the night guards that you can buy from the drug store and she gives me this talk about how much more damage those can do.

-I have only had one filling since I was 10. Suddenly when I switch to this dentist, I need filling after filling after filling. I don't remember how many I have had with these guys, maybe around 7-8 in 3 visits? I had a wisdom tooth that got a cavity and they wanted to pull all 3 of mine (nothing wrong with the other teeth). They didn't want to fill it but gave me the option and I took it because I was having others filled and hate the idea of tooth extraction. They quoted me crazy high prices for a filling vs extraction, and then when I asked again, it was the opposite.

-Last straw; After having my first metal filling drilled and refilled (they said it was going bad), I had some pretty sharp pain when I would bite down. I went in to have them look at it and the dentist had me do some bite tests. Without x-rays, she determined that there was a crack in my tooth and I would need a crown. I had planned a quick visit that morning before work and told her I couldn't do anything and needed some time to think about it all. They sent "the lady" back to me with paperwork to get started grinding my tooth down and fitting it for a crown right there. Again, NO x-rays to prove that there was a crack! I called a friend's dentist that day and went in for a second opinion a week later. He did x-rays, there was NO CRACK and no reason for a crown (which = more maintenance on a tooth over the years). Turns out that they didn't file the filling down enough and it was causing pain. New dentist filed it down and the pain went away.

-Every single time i went in there they harassed me about this $500 night guard. I just laugh because it seems to me that I was on a path towards expensive unnecessary work. I LOVE my new dentist. I don't feel like I am being scammed every time I go in there.

So...DON'T GO to these people. They're the new breed of dentists; the commercial type who want profit and make problems in their patients to assure future "care". You are not a patient here, you are a customer.
