I was hospitalized with seizures that wouldn't stop on their own. I have had a seizure disorder for over 20 years. Some EEGs have been normal and some have been abnormal. I have been told that it is probable that my seizures are deep in the brain and that is why EEGs are not the only tool used to diagnose seizures. My doctor is the head of the neuroendocrinology department at Harvard and specializes in with women and seizures. I have been working with him for over 3 years now. My seizures have improved dramatically while working with him and my course of treatment will be adjusted based on this hospitalization. This is not normal for me to have seizures like this.

Unfortunately for me, Dr. Fischer was assigned to my case in the hospital. He some with my Dr. in Boston and all was well. I had an EEG and it did not register a seizure. Shortly after he stormed into my room which was an open room for continued observation. In front of everyone he yelled, "you are not having seizures. You need counseling. Think about it!" and he stormed out. I, the nurses, and my partner were all stunned. Stay away from this doctor. He is out of touch and uninformed.

Dr. Fischer is a very good neurologist; he is interested in your case, pays attention and overall, a very kind and gentle man. His staff, on the other hand, is so awful that if he were in any other business, he would have no customers. They are impossible to deal with, don't listen, make incorrect tests, insurance claims, scheduling mistakes, etc. and if I were their boss, they would all be fired within minutes. Due to the unfortunate experience with his staff, i cannot continue to see him.
