I had foot pain and saw Dr. Geist at the end of the day.

When he entered the room, I told him I had pain, pointed out where it was. He listened a few minutes, and then had a technician take an xray. I waited for him to come back in the room. When he returned, he looked at the xray, told me he sees arthritis, and he can't operate on it (I wasn't there for an operation!). When I questioned why the pain radiated up my foot, he said that "all he does is interpret xrays" and quickly left. Not once did he manipulate my foot, offer a cortisone injection, or suggest orthotics (there was an entire catalog of orthotic devices on the counter), or make any other recommendations other than a Rx was to take 800 mg. of advil for two weeks. He must have spent an entire five minutes with me! I could barely walk!

After two weeks, I still had pain. To make a long story short(er), I finally ended up with a podiatrist who has been treating me for Morton's neuroma and I feel much better. He mentioned that if (some) Ortho's Surgeons can't make money on surgery, they really don't want to bother with you. I think that summed up Dr. Geist.

It would have helped if he could have spent more than a few minutes with me and had a conversation, or recommended another doctor. I would not recommend him to anyone. He maybe a good surgeon (I don't know), but I don't think he's not a very doctor.
