A couple of plusses for me re: CVPD. When we first started going here, we did not have dental insurance. The dentist gave me discounts because of this and got the cost down to something I could reasonably afford. When my daughter was in preschool, she wanted to dress as a dentist for career day. I called CVPD and they gladly gave me 16 little bags to give out with info on dental hygeine as well as toothbrush and floss. Of course, this is a promotion for them, and I thought they'd take it that way and do it or I wouldn't have asked... but it was still super-nice. My biggest complaint with the place is that my daughter doesn't go into a private room for her teeth cleaning and consult like I do at my dentist. This may be normal for pediatric dentisty, but I would prefer more privacy. Especially when she first started going and would scream a lot.

I TOOK MY 2YR OLD IN FOR HER FIRST DENTAL EXAM, THE OFFICE STAFF WAS RUSHED AND SEEMED FRAZZLED. AS I FILLED OUT THE CONSENT FORM, I REALLY LIKED THE CHILD FRIENDLY ENVIROMENT. MY HUSBAND IS A PHYSCIAN SO MY CHILD HAS ALWAYS BEEN COMFORTABLE AROUND OTHER DOCTORS. THE DOCTOR HAD VERY POOR COMMUNICATION WITH ME, THE MOM, APPARENTLY HE DID NOT LIKE THE FACT THAT THIS WAS HER FIRST ORAL EXAM. HE TRIED TO EXPLAIN THE IMPORTANCE OF REGULAR CARE IN EARLY LIFE TO SUSTAIN DENTAL HEALTH. HELLO...MY HUSBAND SUSTAINS PEOPLE HEALTH, WE BRUSH HER TEETH, SHE HAS VERY LITTLE SWEETS, SHE IS TWO! MY CAT HAS MORE PEOPLE SKILLS THAN HE DOES. THE DOCTORS APPERANCE ALSO MADE MY CHILD VERY UNCOMFORTABLE, I THOUGHT HE WAS YOUNGER, WHICH WAS WHY I CHOOSE HIM. THEY ARE IN THE RIGHT LOCATION FOR A LOT OF BUSINESS, BUT HE SHOULD HAVE GONE INTO A DIFFERENT FIELD.
