Having multiple issues since Dr. Baruch performed a total hip replacement on me. I had a dislocation shortly after and when I called multiple times I received no call back from the doc., I was rushed to the hospital where they performed a Hip reduction.
Had several meetings after where the normal diagnostics were performed. After a while I also started to complain of pain coming from the hip. Pain that at times I had to take some medicines that I really didn't want to get into. During one visit with my wife who was also seeing the doc for a different issue I mentioned the hip pain to one of the docs assistants. The reply was that the pain was probably caused by barometric pressure.
Pain continues.
One day I was seated outside on my picnic table and when I went to get up I felt a jolt of pain like I never felt before. My leg was poking its way outside of the hip. I went into shock. Lucky I had several family members there. Ambulance was called and again several calls to Dr. Baruch with no answer or call back. I was admitted to the hospital.
The hospital attempted to contact Dr. Baruch to no avail. A reduction was attempted a couple days later but failed. Eventually the orthopedic that was at the hospital agreed to take on the case. NOTE: doctors don't particularly like to take on another doctor's problems. It took some pleading with the new orthopedic doctor and eventually a revision was attempted and completed.
A new issue did surface as it was discovered that my leg was being held in place by dead tissue caused by an infection that started, allegedly, at the time of the original hip replacement. According to several professionals I was allowed to walk around with a disclocated hip by Dr. B.
Since that time I have had several issues with the infection including two surgical procedures and multiple series with antibiotics, both via a PICC and orally. In fact, at the time of this post I have just completed a round where the hip area became infected. My alternative is to have the complete hip replacement torn out of my body and after several weeks have a new hip replacement performed.
To date since the hip revision I have not even received a Get Well Card from Dr. Baruch or his office.
