Heritage Medical Associates is excited to add Dr. Subir Prasad to the St. Thomas office. Dr. Prasad has practiced neurology with St. Thomas Neurology Group since 2004, being active in both inpatient and outpatient neurology care. Dr. Prasad was born and reared in Oxford, Mississippi, where his father was on the faculty of the University of Mississippi. He attended Ole Miss, earning his undergraduate degree in electrical engineering. After a brief career as a consulting engineer for Federal Express and Texas Instruments, he attended medical school at the University of Tennessee in Memphis, and completed his internship and residency at Vanderbilt.

He returned to Memphis to practice and teach at the UT College of Medicine from 1999-2003, coming back to Nashville in 2004. He is Board Certified in both Neurology and Vascular Neurology, and is a clinical assistant professor of neurology at Vanderbilt. While away from the hospital and office, Dr. Prasad is an avid outdoor griller, jazz music fan and enjoys spending time with his wife and two children.

Services Heritage Medical Associates was founded in 1991, when three independent groups of internists came together to form an organization that would be ideally suited to continue to offer quality patient care in the ever-changing health care setting. From the original practices, we have grown to be the largest independently-owned multi-specialty group in Middle Tennessee, with over 100 physicians and other providers practicing more than a dozen specialties. In addition to the physician practices, we offer a full range of laboratory and diagnostic services, including advance imaging such as mammography, CT and MRI.
