About

Suki Hanfling, Director,ISI

The Institute for Sexuality & Intimacy offers couples therapy, relationship enhancement, and specialized treatment of sexual dissatisfaction, sexual dysfunctions and sexual compulsions or addictions.
We treat heterosexual, gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgendered individuals and couples. Our treatment approach emphasizes the individual growth of each partner as well as the enhancement of the couple relationship.
We work with both members of a couple, whenever possible. We have found that when one partner experiences sexual difficulties, the other partner generally influences and is affected by these problems. However, it is possible to successfully conduct sex therapy with an individual.
Commonly Encountered Sexual Difficulties include:
1. Low or inhibited sexual desire, persistent reduction in sexual interest, or total disinterest in sex.
2. Sexual incompatibility and unsatisfying sex.
3. Erectile dysfunction
4. Premature or delayed ejaculation
5. Inability to experience orgasm
6. Pain or discomfort during sex e.g. vulvodynia, vaginismus, vestibulitis
7. Sexual addictions and compulsions
8. Anxiety about sex, sexual aversion
All members of the clinical staff at the Institute for Sexuality and Intimacy (ISI) have between 15 and 30 years experience as therapists and are specializing in the field of sexuality and intimacy. All are independently licensed clinicians, with offices located around the Greater Boston area.
The ISI maintains a rigorous program of continuing education and advanced training in the state-of-the-art sex therapy techniques for its staff.

The director, Suki Hanfling, AASECT Diplomate, was presented with the first Award for Outstanding Contributions to the Field of Sex Therapy as a Therapist, Teacher, and Supervisor by the New Eng./NY Division of the American Association of Sex Educators, Counselors, and Therapists (AASECT).
