It absolutely pains me to read a negative review concerning dr. Cannella. He has been my pain management specialist from 04 2004 until today. He cares so much for his patients and people in general. He has gone out of his way so many times to keep me comfortable in this last ten years of miserable pain that I have had to live with. He stopped to call me once when he was on vacation in an attempt to help me get more comfortable. In response to above review, he can not be held responsible for actions of office staff if u do not notify him. Any misunderstanding I've ever had in all of these years with an office staff member has always been rectified quickly! It angers him to be told a patient has been wronged in any way. Another comment made was that his patients are drug seekers. That is the most untrue statement I have ever heard! Chronic pain begs for relief and he tries to look farther into the future to keep you as comfortable as possible for the rest of your life and explains it to you so that you can understand the reason for needing to be conservative with your medication dosages.

His office and his beliefs are conservative while still helping you to handle true chronic pain. He teaches that only ignorance will cause people who do not understand true pain to label anyone who has to have medication to function as a drug seeker or addict. As far as seeing a physicians assistant it does not bother me due to most of the monthly check ups he requires there is really no change to the pain. I have more options of appointment times which makes me happy to always be able to get an evening appt. since trying to get somewhere early is virtually impossible when pain is your partner. If I want to see him,I ask for him and have never been refused. My opinion of dr. Cannella is that I have never ask him for any help that he has not provided, I would refer anyone I know to him, that he is a very kind considerate person that I have driven 1 1/2 hours each way to see whether I moved or he moved and I would not trust anyone else to care for me or any family member. If you are searching for a physician, who is also compassionate and informed, this is who I would choose!

at first dr. cannella was very accessable and i felt a capable doctor, but then he moved his office without sending out a change of location notification and when i showed up for my scheduled appointment i was informed he had moved to fuqua and if i wanted to see him i'd better get moving. second, dr. cannella hired a p.a. and started scheduling my appointments with her. i again was not notified of change or given any options in seeing an inexperienced p.a. after six months of only seeing this p.a. i called and asked if i could move back to the webster location because i lived in webster and it was more convienant for me and my family, i was told they do not schedule appointments for any other doctor but cannella and if i wanted to been seen in webster i needed to leave the practice. when i called to schedule an appt. with cannella i was sheduled with the p.a. again. finally i had, had enough of the merry go round i was on so i called the office manager to voice my concerns about the sheduling and she told me " if i had a problem with the way space city pain associates conducted their business i could get my records and go find another doctor. that she had a migrain headache today and didnt feel like putting up with all the patient bullshit today." hearing this i made one final attempt to salvage my relationship with dr.cannella by asking him to call me. he did return my call but was well briefed by his staff and said he had nothing more to say about the issue other than he would be glad to continue being my doctor until i found another doctor. i only wish i had checked with doctor ratings before going to space city pain associates, if i had i would have chosen someone else. not only were their ratings not that good, after waiting to see the doctor in his lobby it seems their clients are the drug seeking type not educated business people, i would not recomend waiting in their lobby, if you do go sit out side in the atrium.
