Why I chose to pursue a career in healthcare: As a cardiac electrophysiologist (EP), I specialize in caring for patients who have electrical problems with their hearts, such as atrial fibrillation (a-fib), atrial flutter, and SVT. The long-term relationships with patients, continued intellectual challenge of EP, and the opportunity to fix (not just medicate) heart rhythm problems makes EP my passion. What I want my patients to know about me: I strive to know each of my patients as a person, so that I can understand how their arrhythmia impacts their life. Working together with each patient, I try to develop a treatment strategy that gives them the highest possible quality of life.
