A drug and alcohol counselor offers guidance and support for those suffering from addictions to all forms of drugs and alcohol. In addition to identifying their client's addiction, drug and alcohol counselors educate their clients about the various negative consequences addiction brings and current treatment options. A drug and alcohol counselor may work in a hospital, government program, private practice, or corporation.
